3M Company is a diversified American multinational science and manufacturing corporation founded in 1902 and headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota. It applies materials science to produce tens of thousands of products across safety and industrial, transportation and electronics, and consumer markets, including brands such as Scotch tape, Post-it Notes, Scotchgard and Thinsulate. The company holds over 100,000 patents and operates in roughly 70 countries with about 60,500 employees. 3M trades on the NYSE under MMM, is a Dow Jones Industrial Average component, and spun off its health care business as Solventum in April 2024.
